Justin Townes Earle

Songwriter Justin Townes Earle will celebrate the impact of famed artist Woody Guthrie for two nights on the Schimmel Stage. A powerful musician in his own right, recently winning the “Song of the Year” award at the Americana Music Awards in 2011, Earle will be playing his original songs in the context of Guthrie, the folk musician who has inspired the liked of Springsteen, Dylan and Mellencamp  and is well known as one of the forefathers of folk. Earle will be joined by special guests during this two-night run, including John McCauley of Deer Tick, The Low Anthem, Joe Pug and Joe Klein, best-selling author of “Woody Guthrie: A Life,” and “Primary Colors.”

A venerable folk musician in his own right, Earle’s 2012 album, Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, is a true testament to his artistry and is available to stream via Spotify.
