Shakespeare’s Globe Hamlet

Hailing from London, Shakespeare’s Globe is renowned for its classic productions of the English playwright as well as its reconstruction of the Elizabethan playhouse demolished in the mid-17th century. We are excited to be hosting their production of Hamlet, which is currently on tour in D.C. with plans to stop in Boston and in various cities throughout California.

Hamlet, of course, is Shakespeare’s illustrious tragedy, following the Prince of Denmark as he considers revenge on his uncle, Claudius, who murdered the prince’s father to usurp the throne. Billed by the Washington Post as a “straightforward telling,” the production features a “sleek, expository effectiveness” that is sure to please fans of the tragedy.

With eight performances scheduled between October 2nd through the 7th, you’ll have multiple chances to see this fantastic retelling. We will also be hosting a talk-back session after the Thursday, 10/4 performance featuring Michael Sexton, Artistic Director of the Shakespeare Society, as the discussion leader.

Follow the break to find a video of immediate reactions from audience members who saw this performance during its previous tour throughout the UK.
